Due to advancement in mobile technology more and more software app are available for different types of smart phones and iPhones. Some of the apps can pass on your scrambled personal details and identity to these networks.

This has both advantages and disadvantages, the biggest disadvantage is that if you are keeping a track on the terrorists by tracking their electronic serial number and capture the information at the local mobile tower. This has advantages also as it can ensure your privacy.

The smart phone manufactures are always annoyed as their proprietary software is now open to all and has really opened up. There are some software’s being developed which can ensure encrypting your personal details which nobody can break into. This move may not be liked by various security and spying agencies and also various Governments across the world who would like to keep eye on their users.

Not too long ago in countries like India, UAE and Saudi Arabia, the Governments were not comfortable with Blackberry as the information of the users was completely encrypted and Government had no clue how to collect the personal information. Rightly so, because India has suffered many terrorists attack in the past, the recent being in Mumbai where hundreds of innocent citizens were killed.

The terrorists use the cell phones to communicate with their mentors. Similarly in Arab countries the royal family members are worried about the revolution. These software’s were create with good intentions but sometimes software professionals create an application which by passes the protocol of these smart phones.

Basically these software’s are created to be used by the users to make their life comfortable so that they can use many applications in their cell phones. The manufactures of smart phones are a worried lot, as they anticipate that the phone will never work again and the user will return it and take the refund.

Logically, it is your right to use your cell phone to use it as per your wish; you have freedom to download any app as per your requirement and use. But it is not that way as all the communication devices have to be registered with Federal communication Commission, even though you are the owner of the phone, you do not have right to do so as you may be violating FCC.

You are expected to use your smart phones rightly and cannot use it incorrectly; a legal action can be initiated against you if you do so. Besides you may run your own networks among groups and friends, if you use it wrongly.

There are some options which may create some way so that you can talk phone to phone without using the cell tower, this will make it difficult to track your electronic serial number, and this is because you are not using the cell tower.

This makes the situation difficult for the agencies that have to perform duties like protecting us from unwanted elements, especially terrorists. This may be interfering into your privacy as nobody is willing that his privacy is violated, even if it for the good cause and for your own safety.
